The Wingsuit Flying competition consists of 2 events: Wingsuit Performance and Wingsuit Acrobatic.  In the Wingsuit Performance event, competitors attempt to fly their wingsuits as far as possible, with the slowest descent rate, and with the highest horizontal speed as possible.  In the Wingsuit Acrobatic event, teams of 3 (2 performers and 1 videographer) perform routines that are judged on execution and difficulty.

For FAI World Championships, the US Parachute Team can send the following number of competitors:
Wingsuit Performance: Up to 8 individual competitors
Wingsuit Acrobatic: 2 teams (6 competitors)
